If you’re planning a solo trip to Mexico City, there are many options. From Hostel Ka Beh to El Tepozteco, there are a variety of options for travelers. If you’re not fluent in Spanish, there are still many ways to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Hostel Ka Beh

For a great place to stay while in Mexico City, I would highly recommend Hostel Ka Beh. This budget-friendly hostel offers a host of facilities, such as a rooftop terrace and a shared kitchen. It also has a 24-hour reception and a TV room, a free library, and luggage storage. There are also staff members that speak English, and they provide a variety of helpful services.

The location is excellent, and the Hostel Ka Beh is centrally located and offers a wide variety of activities. Its location is ideal for exploring Mexico City on a budget, as it is only half a block from the central plaza. The hostel is also within walking distance of restaurants, supermarkets, and other attractions. There are also many common areas and a patio for relaxing.

Hostel Ka’beh is a great choice for travelers travelling on their own. It offers free breakfast, 24-hour security, luggage storage, cable tv, free Wi-Fi, and free city maps. The staff is very friendly, and you’ll enjoy your stay at this hostel.

While Mexico City can be pricey, there are plenty of affordable hostels in the city. Choose the one that suits your budget. The Selina hostel offers an additional 10% discount on its price, and has modern facilities for travelers on a budget.

Isla Holbox

If you are planning to visit Isla Holbox by yourself, you’ll need to find transportation to get there. While it may sound daunting, it’s actually very easy to do. There are two options for getting there from Mexico City: renting a car and taking the ferry from Chiquila. The ferry ride is about two hours, and there are two companies that operate it. If you want to save time, you can also book a private driver to take you there.

Getting to Isla Holbox from Mexico City is very easy. You can book a taxi or collectivo, and then take the ferry to the island. If you’re travelling on your own, you’ll want to get insurance. A Travel Insurance Master or WorldNomads policy is a good choice for a short trip. If you plan to stay on the island for more than a few days, you may want to consider SafetyWing.

Isla Holbox is a quiet and secluded island located in Quintana Roo on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It’s a dreamy setting to unwind, enjoy nature, and learn about Mexican culture. Holbox is best known for whale shark sightings, and you can swim with these giant fish in their natural habitat. They are surprisingly gentle, but can reach a length of 14 meters.

If you plan on visiting Isla Holbox alone, it’s best to avoid the high season in July and August. The weather in Holbox is hot and humid in these months, so make sure to pack appropriate clothes and sun screen.

El Tepozteco

To make sure you’ll have enough time to explore this part of Mexico City on your own, consider visiting El Tepozteco. A small town surrounded by majestic mountains, it offers an ideal combination of natural beauty, history, and culture. It is only 75km south of Mexico City.

If you don’t mind spending a few extra dollars, consider using an inexpensive, low-cost SIM card from Telcel. It comes with four gigs of data, unlimited calls, and unlimited social media for only a few dollars a day. Keep in mind, the SIM card you buy will only last 30 days.

If you’re traveling by bus, consider booking a one-way bus ticket from Mexico City to Tepoztlan. The trip will take about 1.5 hours. You can also get there by taxi or colectivo. These will cost you less than $60 for a one-way trip.

Another option for solo travel in Mexico City is to visit the Xochimilco canal, a picturesque waterway area dotted with colorful boats and mariachi bands. It’s a great way to travel longer distances, but try to avoid the hora pico rush hour, which happens between six am and nine pm. This may put you under a lot of stress. Alternatively, you can simply walk around the city and enjoy its architecture.

While you’re in Mexico City, take time to visit Frida Kahlo’s house. This museum gives you an intimate look into the artist’s life and is one of the best day trips in Mexico City. It is close to the city but offers a more serene and bohemian side.

Puerto Escondido

If you’re traveling alone, you may be wondering where to stay in Puerto Escondido. While the area is relatively safe, it is important to use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. The cost of accommodations and meals can be quite inexpensive in Puerto Escondido, and the market there is filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and cured meats.

Though Puerto Escondido is free from drug cartel violence, you should use common sense when navigating the town. The lifeguards in the area save approximately 800 people every year from drowning in the waters. You should follow their advice and stay on the safe side, especially around the beach. While there are many beaches in the area, Playa Carrizalillo is the safest for swimming.

If you’re traveling by plane, you can find cheap, convenient transportation to Puerto Escondido. The airport has taxis and colectivos. You will need to wait until the mini-vans are full, but it’s still a cheap way to get around.

You can also go surfing in Puerto Escondido. The city is known for its surf waves, and there are numerous competitions and beaches in the area. Beginners can check out Zicatela Beach, Carrizalillo Beach, and La Punta Beach. While the waves in Puerto Escondido are not the best for advanced surfers, they are still ideal for beginners.

Merida

Merida, Mexico is a safe city, but there are some things to keep in mind when traveling alone. You’ll want to avoid walking alone at night, and be wary of strangers. Also, don’t go into bars alone unless you’re sure you’re comfortable, and be careful when meeting people at random.

One of the best ways to get around Merida on your own is to use public transportation. A bus to the city center costs just $25 and will take about four hours. This means that you can easily access the sights of the city. If you’re traveling alone, a hotel in the center will make it easier for you to explore by foot.

Another good way to get around a new city is to take a free walking tour. These tours will take you to some of the city’s main landmarks and give you some history. A typical tour will take you past the Cathedral, Palacio de Gobierno, Teatro Peon Contreras, and other plazas.

The main square is home to famous “you and me” lovers’ chairs. These chairs are white curved conversation benches that are designed for two. A local legend claims that they were invented by an overprotective father when his daughter was old enough to start courting.
